My Vision for Division 6
Improving Infrastructure and Essential Services
Ensure better road maintenance and timely snow removal for safe year-round access.
Expand transportation options for seniors and residents with disabilities, improving access to health care and other essential services.
Promoting Economic Growth and Local Jobs
Boost tourism by showcasing Division 6’s natural beauty and rich history, including our lakes and rivers.
Support small businesses with grants and incentives to strengthen the local economy.
Protecting Our Environment
Advocate for policies that safeguard our lakes, rivers, watersheds, and other local ecosystems.
Support sustainable development to balance growth with environmental stewardship.
Supporting Farmers and Rural Communities
Advocate for programs to help farmers adapt and implement mitigation strategies to reduce the impacts of increasing weather extremes.
Push for funding to improve roads, bridges, and broadband internet.
Strengthening Community Safety
Partner with emergency services to improve response times and safety protocols.
Inform residents about disaster preparedness, including wildfire and flood safety.

Develop programs for kids and teens, including arts, sports, and mentorship opportunities.

Career Highlights
Designed and built Alberta’s primary and secondary highways, private urban and rural developments, and numerous subdivisions throughout the province.
Led major projects including the Vancouver Island Highway, Nanaimo Parkway, Alaska Highway, Key Lake uranium mines, and Montana interstates.
Delivered local infrastructure—schools, hospitals, and urban developments—across Alberta, including West Edmonton Mall.
Managed design-build contracts with transparency, cost-effectiveness, and community-focused outcomes.
Emergency Preparedness
Coordinated resources during floods, wildfires, and industrial accidents.
Worked closely with municipalities and emergency services to ensure effective disaster response.
Developed strategies to strengthen emergency plans, improve resource readiness, and enhance community safety.
Project Management Expertise
Led infrastructure planning and contract management across Alberta Transportation over a 35-year career.
Ensured appropriate use of public funds as Expenditure Officer through rigorous consultant audits and contract inspections.
Designed and implemented standardized procedures that elevated efficiency and quality for dozens of major capital projects.
About Me Today
I’ve been retired for seven years and have lived with my wife and our cat at beautiful Lake Wabamun for 20 years. I operate Faulkner Fine Art Gallery, a home-based studio where I create, showcase, and sell my artworks. I spend my time volunteering for community initiatives, teaching art and photography, and sponsoring programs that benefit all generations. I believe in the power of creativity and connection, and I’m passionate about making Division 6 an even better place to live, work, and grow.

I’m deeply honored to have recently received the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for my work with Indigenous youth. This recognition reflects my commitment to inspiring young people, building their confidence, and fostering opportunities for them to thrive.
